The hotel is located at the south end of Jasper Avenue at the top of Bellamy Hill, in close proximity to the Shaw Conference Centre, and is well positioned for all business facilities in the downtown core. The 25-storey building was built in 1967 and stands apart from its competitors as the only round tower in the area. Housed at the top of the tower is La Ronde, Edmonton's only revolving restaurant, offering guests and visitors a fine dining experience. The hotel underwent major structural renovations in 1992, at a cost of $12 million, following which it was rebranded as a Crowne Plaza, the first in Western Canada. The hotel offers a total of approximately 14,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space in a variety of rooms, including the River Valley room with its splendid views. Connected to the property is a 13-storey parkade with over 675 parking stalls. The hotel's facilities include three food and beverage facilities with a total capacity of 360 diners. The "Cafe Lacombe", a 120-seat restaurant, offers all day dining, while the adjacent 60-seat Bellamy's Lounge offers live music to its patrons. "La Ronde" offers fine dining every evening and a popular Sunday brunch.
